Feb. 15, 2016 WASHINGTON - Georgetown University sophomore forward Isaac Copeland (Raleigh, N.C./Brewster Academy [N.C.]) was selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after his performance in a pair of games last week.
The Hoyas beat St. John's last Monday at home, 92-67, and fell to No. 18 Providence, 75-72, on the road on Saturday afternoon. Georgetown has a 14-12 overall record and is tied for fifth place in the BIG EAST with a 7-6 league record.
Copeland averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and .2.5 assists while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor (12-of-21) during the games last week.
In the win over St. John's, he tied his career high of 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds and handed out three assists. Copeland followed that up with 12 points and two assists in the loss to Providence.
Overall this season, he is third on the team in scoring, averaging 10.7 points per game, and is second on the team with 5.1 rebounds per game. In the last four games, he is averaging 16.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
Georgetown is off for a few days before returning to action on Wednesday, Feb. 17, hosting Seton Hall in a BIG EAST Conference matchup at Verizon Center. Tipoff is slated for 9:15 p.m. The game will be shown live on FOX Sports 1, with Scott Graham calling the play-by-play and Donny Marshall serving as the color analyst.
