March 29, 2016

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University senior men's basketball player D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central/Oak Hill) was selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District 5 Second Team.

This is the second postseason honor for the GU guard, who was also an All-BIG EAST Second Team selection. It also marks his third career recognition from the NABC, as he was a first team honoree in 2014-15 as a junior and a second team selection in 2013-14 as a sophomore.

Smith-Rivera led Georgetown in scoring this year with 16.2 points per game, which ranked fifth in the BIG EAST Conference. His 533 points scored were the 25th most in a single season in Georgetown history.

The 6-3 guard also ranked among the BIG EAST leaders in assists, free throw percentage, steals, three-point field goal percentage, assist/turnover ratio and minutes played. He was the only player in the BIG EAST to rank among the top 10 in seven different statistical categories.
