Georgetown Hosts Black Bears on Tuesday Night

WASHINGTON - After securing its fourth win of the season this past weekend at Richmond, the Georgetown University men's basketball team is set to return home on Tuesday night to take on the University of Maine. Tipoff at Capital One Arena is slated for 8:45 p.m.

The game will be shown live on FS1 with Justin Kutcher calling the play-by-play and Vin Parise serving as the color analyst. The game can be heard locally on WNEW 99.1 FM with Rich Chvotkin calling the action.

Georgetown remains undefeated after its first road test with an 82-76 win over the University of Richmond on Saturday. The Hoyas showed consistency across the board as all five starters scored in double figures. Junior Marcus Derrickson (Bowie, Md./Brewster Academy [N.H.]) led the way with team highs of 16 points and nine rebounds. Senior Jonathan Mulmore (New Orleans, La./Redemption Christian [Texas]/Allegany) continued to serve as GU's floor general as he posted his own career highs of 15 points and eight assists.

Jessie Govan (Queens Village, N.Y./Wings Academy) added 14 points and freshman Jamorko Pickett (Washington, D.C./Massanutten Military Academy [Va.]) added 12. Junior Kaleb Johnson (South Hill, Va./The Carlisle School) added 11 points to round out those who scored in double figures.

Through four games, Georgetown leads the BIG EAST in rebounds, averaging 42.8 rpg and outrebounding opponents by 14.5 rpg. Shooting red hot from beyond the arc, the Hoyas are hitting 47.1 percent of their 3-pointers, ranking second in the conference. Govan leads the BIG EAST with 12.3 rpg and ranks third among the league in points per game with 19.3. Johnson has been consistent with his shot and leads the league with a 70.4 field goals percentage.

The Black Bears are 1-5 on the season and coming off a 78-72 win over Quinnipiac on Sunday night. They are led by senior point guard Aaron Calixte who is averaging 14.7 points per game and 34.0 minutes per contest.

This will be the first ever meeting between the Hoyas and Black Bears. Georgetown has an all-time record of 4-0 against schools from the America East Conference. The last time Georgetown faced an opponent from the America East was against UMBC in the first round of the NCAA Tournament where the Hoyas won 66-47 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Following Tuesday's game, the Hoyas will return to action on against Coppin state on December 3 at 6:30 p.m. at Capital One Arena as part of the BB&T Classic.
