GU MBB Game Notes - 12/23/2017 
WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's basketball team hosts Alabama A&M for the first meeting ever this Saturday. Tipoff at Capital One Arena is set for noon. This is the final nonconference game for the Hoyas as BIG EAST action begins next week.
Saturday's game will be shown live on FS1 with Rich Waltz calling the play-by-play and Len Elmore serving as the color analyst. The game can be heard locally on WJFK 106.7 FM with Rich Chvotkin calling the action.
In the last outing, the Hoyas defeated North Texas, 75-63, Wednesday night at Capital One. Junior forward Marcus Derrickson (Bowie, Md./Brewster Academy [N.H]) scored a team-high 17 points and junior center Jessie Govan (Queens Village, N.Y./Wings Academy) contributed 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds to help the Blue & Gray improve to 9-1 on the season. Derrickson and Govan are averaging a combined 33.7 ppg and 19.9 rpg. The duo accounts for 41.6 percent of Georgetown's points this season while shooting 58.2 percent from the field in 10 games.
Alabama A&M remains winless after suffering its 12th loss of the season Thursday night at Michigan, 97-47. The Hoyas are 17-0 against schools from the SWAC.
Following Wednesday's game, Georgetown will host Butler on Wednesday, Dec. 27, with a 6:30 p.m. tipoff at Capital One Arena.
