Feb. 23, 2017 WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team travels to Florida this weekend for the East Madeira Invite, hosted by Eastern Michigan. The team will play five games over the course of three days, starting on Friday, February 24 with a matchup against host Eastern Michigan at 11 a.m.
The Hoyas will continue play on Friday when they face off against Loyola-Chicago at 1:30 p.m. Saturday's slate of games will include a doubleheader against Manhattan and Army. The tournament will conclude on Sunday with a game against Brown at 11:30 a.m. These games will be the first all-time matchups against all five teams for GU.
The Blue & Gray is coming off an 0-4 weekend at the USC Upstate/Furman Classic. Sophomore Mallory Belknap (Scottsdale, Ariz./Xavier College Prep) led the team offensively with six hits and is currently leading the team with a .433 batting average. Alexa Dolby (Round Hill, Va./Woodgrove) launched her first career home run last weekend and Sera Stevens (Birmingham, Mich./Marian) leads the team with two home runs and six RBI on the season.
