"The Felsberg Tournament will not allow us to ease into the 2017 season," Georgetown Head Coach Pat Conlan. "With teams from two tough conferences it will be an exciting and challenging weekend. Playing this type of competition early will help us prepare for the BIG EAST Conference. This weekend will be an opportunity to see who we are and where we are as a team."
This will be the second time that the Hoyas have played against FIU, with the first matchup being won by the Panthers in 2009. GU will be playing Memphis for the first time this weekend
Georgetown is looking to improve off of the 2016 season that saw the team finish 9-35 on the season. This is the 12th season on the Hilltop for the Hoyas, under coach Pat Conlan. This year's roster includes 9 returners and 8 freshman student-athletes. The Hoyas will be led on the field by senior Gabriela Elvina (Edison, N.J./Bishop George Ahr), junior Theresa Kane (Mystic, Conn./Stonington) and sophomore Mallory Belknap (Scottsdale, Ariz./Xavier College Prep).
