Georgetown in Ninth Place at Princeton Invitational

The Georgetown University men's golf team is tied for seventh place after the first day of play at the Princeton Invitational, being held at Springdale Country Club in Princeton, N.J.

The Hoyas shot a 17-over par 301 in the first round and bounced back with an 8-over par 292 during the second round, held on Saturday afternoon.

Georgetown is in ninth place in the field of 14 teams at 25-over par 593.

Minnesota sits atop the field at 5-over par 573, two shots ahead of host Princeton (7-over par 575). Seton Hall and Harvard are tied for third place (9-over par 577), with Cornell fifth at 15-over par 583.

Junior Sam Madsen (Madison, Wis./Edgewood/Cardinal Gibbons [Fla.]) leads the Hoyas, standing in a tie for 15th place at 3-over par 175 after rounds of 3-over par 74 and even par 71.

Junior Jack Musgrave (Chesterton, Ind./Andrean) is tied for 25th place at 6-over par 148. He posted a 2-over par 73 in the second round.

Only one shot back is another junior, Cole Berman (Philadelphia, Pa./The Haverford School), who is tied for 30th place at 7-over par 149, with a 2-over par 73 in the second round.

Sophomore Kevin Jackson (Atlanta, Ga./Marist School) is tied for 40th place at 9-over par 151 and freshman Eduardo Blochtein (Delray Beach, Fla./Spanish River) is tied for 59th place at 13-over par 155.

The final round of play will be held on Sunday.
