Junior Sam Madsen (Madison, Wis./Edgewood/Cardinal Gibbons [Fla.]) fired a 3-under par 68 and the Georgetown men's golf team had its best round of the tournament with a 2-under par 282 en route to a tie for sixth place among 14 teams at the Princeton Invitational, held at Springdale Country Club in Princeton, N.J.
The Hoyas, who were tied for ninth place after the first day of play, posted the fourth-best round of the day with the 2-under par 282 to finish at 23-over par 875.
Seton Hall won the event, finishing at 1-over par 853, with Harvard second at 6-over par 858. Princeton finished in third place at 10-over par 862, Minnesota was fourth at 17-over par 869 and Yale finished in fifth place at 21-over par 873. Georgetown tied for sixth place with Rutgers.
Madsen was tied for 15th place after the first day of play, but fired a 3-under par 68 ââ'¬" the second-best round of the day and the third-best individual round among all players ââ'¬" to finish in fourth at even par 213.
Juniors Jack Musgrave (Chesterton, Ind./Andrean) and Cole Berman (Philadelphia, Pa./The Haverford School) tied for 19th place at even par 219. Musgrave carded an even par 71 in Sunday's final round, while Berman posted a a 1-under par 70.
Sophomore Kevin Jackson (Atlanta, Ga./Marist School) tied for 48th place at 13-over par 226 and freshman Eduardo Blochtein (Delray Beach, Fla./Spanish River) finished in 57th place at 15-over par 228.
Georgetown is back in action on Saturday, April 15, playing in the Rutherford Collegaite.
