Craig Berge and Daniel Bucaro Named Preseason All-BIG EAST

Jan. 24, 2018

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's duo of senior Craig Berge (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) and junior Daniel Bucaro (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) were named to the Preseason Men's Lacrosse All-BIG EAST Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. The pair were both unanimous selections to the 19-member preseason team.

A two-time All-BIG EAST performer and an All-American as a freshman in 2015, Berge will help pace the Hoya offense from the midfield. He has tallied 40 goals and 33 assists in his three-year tenure with the Blue & Gray and looks to become just the 20th player in program history with 100 career points. Berge has also notched 11 man-up goals and collected 61 ground balls during his time on the Hilltop.

Bucaro collects his second-straight preseason All-BIG EAST accolade after putting together one of the best offensive seasons in program history in 2017. He scored 40 goals to go with 13 assists for 53 points, giving him the seventh-most goals and 14th-most points in a single season on the Hilltop. A back-to-back All-BIG EAST standout and the 2016 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, Bucaro has recorded 58 goals and 26 assists for 84 career points with the Blue & Gray.

Georgetown opens the 2018 season at home against High Point on Tuesday, Feb. 13., at Cooper Field. The Hoyas play a strong schedule that features eight home games and four contests against teams that made the 2017 NCAA Championships.
