Meaghan Nally (Herndon, Va. / South Lakes) was selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. The two players were applauded for their efforts against Creighton and Villanova last week in league matches.
This marks No. 5 Georgetown's eighth-straight week being recognized by the BIG EAST. This is Farrell's fourth-consecutive week receiving conference honors and Nally's second nod to the honor roll this season.
The Hoyas went 2-0 last week, dominating Creighton on Thursday, 7-1, and then defeating Villanova on Sunday, 1-0, in an overtime thriller with a game-winning goal from Farrell.
Farrell recorded eight points between both matches last week from a total of four goals. The forward notched a hat trick against the Bluejays with three goals and then scored the game-winning goal against the Wildcats in overtime. She leads the Blue & Gray with 27 points from 13 goals and an assist. She ranks second in the NCAA in total goals (13), fourth in goals per game (.93) and seventh in total points (27). Farrell leads the BIG EAST in points, points per game (1.93), goals and goals per game.
Nally led a Georgetown defense which limited opponents to just 12 total shots on goal as the Hoyas scored their foes 8-1. Nally added three total shots in wins at Creighton and one against Villanova.
The Blue & Gray will host Providence at Shaw Field on Sunday, Oct. 14. It will also be Senior Day as the eight seniors will be honored in a ceremony prior to kickoff.
