WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Track & Field All-American
Joe White (Clifton, N.J. / DePaul Catholic) was named the BIG EAST Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, as announced by the league. The honor comes after White recorded a new indoor personal best in the men's 400-meter race. White was one of eight event title winners at the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Maryland hosted by Navy.
In his lone event of the day, White posted a first-place finish clocking a time of 47.94. This mark ranks him fourth in the NCAA in the 400-meter event and first in the BIG EAST.
This is the sixth total BIG EAST weekly honor of White's decorated career and his fifth indoor nod to date. This is the first weekly award for the Blue & Gray so far this season.
Both squads are currently on a six-week break and will resume competition when they travel to University Park, Pennsylvania on Jan. 12 for the Penn State Nittany Lion Challenge, hosted by Penn State University.
