Women's Soccer Releases Spring Schedule

Feb. 20, 2018

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's soccer team announced its spring schedule on Monday as the team is in the midst of training. The Hoyas will play on five competition dates, all away from home, as the squad prepares for the 2018 season.

Georgetown completed the 2017 campaign with 14 wins and both the BIG EAST Regular Season and Championship titles for the first time in program history. The Hoyas were just the fourth team in league history to win back-to-back titles. GU's NCAA Tournament berth was the eighth for the Blue & Gray.

"I am very excited to announce another tough spring schedule as we start to put together the foundations for next year," said Georgetown Head Coach Dave Nolan. "Although we graduate some quality players, especially in midfield and on defense, we have girls who have been waiting patiently for the opportunity to show how good they are. This is where the road starts towards winning another BIG EAST Championship and making our seventh-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance."

The team will play its first game of the spring on Friday, March 16 at James Madison University. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. The following Saturday, GU will travel to Virginia Commonwealth University for a 7:30 p.m. matchup.

Georgetown will head to the U.S. Naval Academy on Friday, April 6 as the squad takes on the Midshipmen at 7 p.m. On Saturday, April 14, the Blue & Gray will travel to Penn State University as GU battles the Nittany Lions at 2 p.m. PSU advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament this past season.

The Hoyas will close out the spring season at George Washington University on Saturday, April 21, at noon.
