WASHINGTON - Georgetown University junior Daniel Bucaro (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) added another midseason accolade to his résumé as he was named to the USILA Division I Team of the Week. He was previously named the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Attack Player of the Week as well.
Bucaro led the Hoyas to a 12-10 victory over then-19th-ranked Towson over the weekend. Leading the way with four goals and a pair of assists for a game-high six points, he has helped the Hoyas to their best start since 2003. His fifth point of the game, an assist to Lucas Wittenberg (Kennesaw, Ga./Harrison/Mercer) in the third quarter, gave him 100 points in his career. Bucaro is the 21st Georgetown player to reach 100 career points and he cracked the top-20 in career goals with his four-goal outburst against the Tigers.
Other honorees joining Bucaro include Saint Joseph's Mike Adler, Denver's Trevor Baptiste, Robert Morris' Zachary Bryant, Virginia's Jared Conners, Albany's TD Ierlan, North Carolina's Timmy Kelly, Syracuse's Dom Madonna, Penn's Kevin McGeary and Cornell's Jeff Teat
Georgetown, ranked 17th in both national polls, defeated Mount St. Mary's, 16-6, on Tuesday and travel to face Hofstra on Saturday at 1 p.m.
