WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's women's lightweight rowing team returns to the water as it takes part in the Knecht Cup over the weekend in Mercer Lake, New Jersey. The Hoyas enter the weekend ranked tied for third in the USRowing Collegiate Poll and has not lost a race yet this spring season.
Opening the weekend in the lightweight 8 event, Georgetown will field a pair of boats in the race with heat at 7:30 a.m. and 7:38 a.m. The top three finishers in each heat, plus the next fastest time, will advance to the Grand Final while the rest will go to the Petite Final.
The Blue & Gray will also enter two crews in the lightweight four event. Racing at 9:22 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., the top two boats in each heat advance to the Grand Final while the rest head to the Petite Final.
Closing out the day Georgetown will also race in the varsity eight event at 10:10 a.m. With four heats competing, the top three on each grouping, plus the next six fastest time will advance to the semifinals.
