WASHINGTON – After a commanding performance at the season-opening George's Cup, the Georgetown University women's openweight First Varsity 4+ (1V4) has been named the Patriot League Boat of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
This marks the first weekly honor for the Hoyas in the 2026 campaign. Competing on the Occoquan Reservoir against local rivals George Washington and George Mason, the 1V4 crew delivered a dominant performance to secure one of Georgetown's three event victories on the day.
Facing a light cross tailwind and the technical challenges of a floating start, the Hoya crew—coxed by Emilie Andrews and stroked by Caroline Maloney—crossed the finish line with a blistering time of 7:16.9. Their performance earned them a massive 9.8-second margin of victory over second-place George Washington (7:26.7) and finished more than 44 seconds ahead of George Mason (8:01.2).
