WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's men's rowing team returns to action this weekend. The heavyweight squad takes on a strong field of ranked Ivy League foes while the lightweight crew hosts a nationally-ranked dual meet on the Potomac.
Openweight
After a week off following a cross-country trip at the Stanford Invitational, the Heavyweight squad hits the road once more as it travels to face three nationally-ranked Ivy League opponents. The 19th-ranked Hoyas open the weekend on Saturday against No. 12 Cornell and No. 14 Penn in Ithaca, New York at 8:45 a.m. Georgetown then hits the water the next day against No. 8 Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire at 9 a.m.
Lightweight
Georgetown returns to the Potomac River on Saturday as it hosts Temple in a battle of top-15 squads. The Hoyas are currently ranked 10th, up one spot from a week ago, while the Owls come to the Nation's Capital ranked No. 13 in the USRowing Coach's Poll. Georgetown will field three varsity 8+ boats with races beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Both days of racing will serve as the final tune ups for the Blue & Gray before it heads to compete in the Eastern Sprints on May 13.
