WASHINGTON - Junior forward Caitlin Farrell (Wallingford, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) was called up to the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team for its third event of the year. Farrell is one of 23 players among a team consisting of all college players invited to the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California from May 11-18.

"This a well-deserved honor for Caitlin, as I feel she emerged as one of the most exciting players in the country this past year," said Georgetown Head Coach Dave Nolan. "With her great pace and size she is really difficult to defend and over the last 12 months she has really matured as a more complete player. We are so proud of her and I know she is very excited to have this opportunity to measure herself against some of the top college players in the country."

Farrell, one of eight forwards to be called up, started all 21 games for the Hoyas during the 2017-18 season. She finished the season with eights goals and three assists, ranking third on the team for most goals.

"In addition to Caitlin we also have incoming transfer Kyra Carusa attending this camp," said Nolan. "It's a great honor for Georgetown to have two players representing our program at this level."

Carusa is a graduate transfer from Stanford University, the 2017 NCAA National Champions. The forward has appeared in 69 games with 68 starts in her three seasons playing for the Cardinal. She has tallied 25 goals and 21 assists in her career as well as connecting on nine game winners. In 2017, she started all 25 games and ranked second on the squad in scoring with 15 goals and five assists for 35 points to go along with four game winners. Carusa scored the first goal of the 2017 national championship game helping Stanford to a 3-2 victory over UCLA.
