WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's women's rowing team heads to the Patriot League Championships on Friday in Camden, New Jersey. The Hoyas will race two varsity 8+ boats and a 4+ crew in the event.

The Blue & Gray looks to build on their best finish at the Patriot League Championship a year ago, advancing to all three grand finals and finishing second overall in the varsity 4+ race to earn a silver medal.

Georgetown's varsity 8+ enters the regatta with strong experience as all nine crew members competed in last season's Patriot League Championships. Grace Calavan, Monica Firmani and Natalie Clark are all returners on the varsity eight, while coxswain Alexandra Harron, Chloe Schalit, Sophie Kershaw and Grace Donabedian were all members of the second varsity eight in 2017 that reached the grand finals. Mara Sylvia and Emily Phelps were both silver medalists on last year's varsity four boat.

Only Diana Lowitt returns from last year's second varsity eight on a return run with the boat. Seniors Sabine Neschke and Morgan Zeiss, along with sophomores Isabella Hershey and Caroline Hyer with freshmen Hallie Bereday, Laila Lapins, Kelly Keenan and Grace Fay join Lowitt on race day.

Two Hoyas, Lily Tyndall and Cait Hagan, return in the varsity four along with Angela Glazer and Maggie Taaffe with Schylar Jacobs at coxswain. Glazer rowed on the second varsity eight boat that reached the grand final last year while Taaffe and Jacobs are freshmen making their first appearance at the Patriot League Championships.
