Nally Called Into U-19 National Training Camp

May 7, 2018

WASHINGTON - Sophomore defender Meaghan Nally (Herndon, Va./South Lakes) was called up to the U.S. Under-19 Women's National Team. A total of 24 players were called up to the U-19 WNT and are all age-eligible for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup should they prove themselves worthy of future call-ups to Jitka Klimkova's U-20 side as they prepare for the U-20 Women's World Cup in France in August.

The training camps will be held at the Elite Athletic Training Center in Chula Vista, California, running from May 5-12.

"This is a great honor for Meg," says Georgetown women's soccer head coach Dave Nolan. "She has worked very hard for this opportunity and thoroughly deserves it. She has quickly emerged into the top fullback in the BIG EAST and this will spur her on to even better things. Everybody here is so happy and proud of her."

Nally, one of eight defenders who were called up, started in 20 games during the 2017-18 season and finished with three goals and an assist. She helped aid the Hoya defense, allowing just seven goals in 21 games and led the nation in shutout percentage.
