WASHINGTON – The No. 11 Georgetown women's soccer team (2-0-2) will head down Foxhall Road to take on local rival George Washington (4-0) on Thursday evening. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the GW Soccer Field. Live stats will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
 
The Hoyas are coming off of a 1-0-1 week, drawing a scoreless tie with then-No. 11 Duke last Thursday in the home opener at Shaw Field and then on Sunday, GU defeated Yale, 3-1. Three different Hoyas tallied a goal against the Bulldogs, including graduate student Kyra Carusa (San Diego, Calif./Del Norte/Stanford), who also had her first assist of the season. Freshman Boo Jackson (Marlton, N.J./Lenape Regional) recorded her first goal of her collegiate career, as she scored the go-ahead goal for the Blue & Gray. Senior Caitlin Farrell (Wallingford, Conn./Choates Rosemary Hall) tallied her second goal of the season and junior Carson Nizialek (Chantilly, Va./Freedom) recorded a point with her second assist of the season.
 
On Monday, Carusa was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for her efforts against Duke and Yale. Georgetown moved into the No. 11 position in the national rankings after entering the poll at No. 15 a week prior.
 
The Colonials are heading into Thursday's match undefeated and are coming off of a 4-1 win against Stetson on Sunday. Sophomore Alexis Williams leads GW with four goals and an assist and has recorded one goal in each game this season. Sofia Pavon leads the team with three this season. The Colonials have outshot every opponent this season so far.
 
This is the 15th meeting in the all-time series between the Hoyas and the Colonials and GU leads the series, 13-1-0. The two teams met during the 2017 season when Georgetown shut out George Washington, 4-0, and Nizialek recorded two assists for the Blue & Gray.
 
Following Thursday's game, the Hoyas will hit the road to Morgantown, West Virginia to take on West Virginia, who is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll, on Sunday. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. Live stats and video will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
