WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team and the BIG EAST Conference released the 2018-19 league schedule on Monday afternoon. The Hoyas will have three games on national television being broadcast on CBS SportsNet (CBSSN), FS1 and FS2 with the remaining conference games available on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN).
Georgetown had previously released the nonconference schedule featuring six home games and five road contests including two games at the South Point Shootout in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The schedule format will remain the same as last year as most conference games will be played on Fridays and Sundays with each institution having a travel partner.
The conference schedule tips off at home as the Hoyas host Xavier on Dec. 29 for a 5 p.m. matchup. On Dec. 31, Georgetown will host Butler at McDonough Arena with a 1 p.m. tip.
Georgetown travels to Providence on Jan. 4 and Creighton on Jan. 6. The contest in Providence will tip at 7 p.m., and the game against the Bluejays is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET and will air on CBSSN.
Georgetown will return home for weekend games against DePaul on Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. and Marquette on Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. The contest against the Blue Demons will open a three-game homestand as Villanova is scheduled for Jan. 19. The Wildcats are GU's travel partner and will host the Blue & Gray on Feb. 16 at 1 p.m.
The Hoyas will hit the road to play at St. John's on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. On Sunday, GU will travel to Seton Hall for a 1 p.m. matchup in South Orange, N.J.
The Blue & Gray will then host Creighton on Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. This will be followed up with a game against Providence on Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. at McDonough Arena.
Games at Marquette and DePaul highlight the next weekend as GU faces the Golden Eagles on Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. ET and the Blue Demons on Feb. 10 at 3 p.m. ET. The contest at Marquette will be broadcast live on FS1.
The last homestand of the season will feature Seton Hall on Feb. 22 at 11 a.m., in a school day game. Senior Day is scheduled for Feb. 24 against St. John's at 2 p.m. The home finale will be aired live on FS2.
GU's final road trip of the season will be at Butler on Mar. 1 at 7 p.m., before closing out the season at Xavier on Mar. 3 at 2 p.m.
For the sixth-consecutive year, FS1 and FS2 will provide coverage of the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament, with this season's event returning to Wintrust Arena in Chicago for a second-consecutive year. FS2 will air the quarterfinal round on March 10, with games set for 1, 3:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m. (ET). FS1 picks up the remainder of the tournament, with the semifinals on March 11 slated for 4 and 6:30 p.m., and the championship game set to tip off at 8 p.m. on March 12. The BIG EAST Digital Network will live stream both first round games on March 9, with tip times not yet determined.
All 10 BIG EAST teams will appear on at least two nationally-televised games during regular season play across the FOX Sports family of networks, while an additional two games will be featured on CBS Sports Network (CBSSN). For the fourth-straight year, the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) will air all women's basketball games during conference play that are not scheduled for a television broadcast, for a total of 74 tilts. FS1 and FS2 will air a total of 22 games.
