WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University swimming & diving team returned to action for the first time in nearly two months, coming away with a split in a tri-meet against local rivals George Washington and American on Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Pool. The Hoyas swept the Eagles, while both sides fell to the Colonials. The squad celebrated Senior Day, recognizing the team's 11 seniors in a ceremony prior to the meet.
The GU men came away with seven individual wins, including two wins apiece from
Brett Sherman (Carmel, Ind. / Carmel) and

Terry Johnson (Carmichael, Calif. / Jesuit) and
Carlson Temple (San Diego, Calif. / Patrick Henry) claimed victories in the 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard breaststroke, respectively.
The Hoya women got off to a strong start, winning the 200-yard medley relay.
Grace Chen (Fairport, N.Y. / Fairport),
Alexandra Rieker (Winston-Salem, N.C. / Ronald Reagan),
Laine Morgan (Miami, Fla. / Ransom Everglades School) and
Belinda Donohoe (Cambridge, Mass. / Concord Carlisle) combined to win by nearly a full second. Donohoe went on to win a pair of individual events, touching the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle. Chen also came away with a victory in the 100-yard backstroke, while
Cristina Barrett (Chatham, N.J. / Chatham) won the 1,000-yard freestyle and finished second in the 500-yard freestyle.
On the diving boards,
