WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's tennis team fell 6-1 in a gritty BIG EAST matchup against the DePaul Blue Demons on Saturday afternoon to end the squad's weekend road trip in the Midwest.
The Blue Demons picked up the doubles point, winning No. 1 and No. 3.
Rohan Kamdar (Singapore / Anglo Chinese School) and
Connor Lee (San Marino, Calif. / San Marino) came up short at No. 1, 6-3, while
Will Sharton (Wayland, Mass. / Wayland) and
Mark Militzer (Charleston, S.C. / Connections Academy) were defeated by their opponents, 6-2.
In singles,
Andrew Rozanov (London, England / Westminster) picked up a win at No. 5, defeating his opponent in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. At No. 3,
Michael Chen (Holmdel, N.J. / Holmdel) battled with Tripp Tuff, winning the second set 6-4, but ultimately dropping the point in the tiebreak on the third set, 7-6(3).
The Hoyas are back in action on Friday, Feb. 8 at noon as they take on the local George Washington Colonials at the Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Maryland.
