WASHINGTON – Georgetown University senior center Jessie Govan (Queens Village, N.Y. / Wings Academy) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Monday. Govan has earned weekly honor roll recognition seven times this season.

The Hoyas split the week 1-1 in league action and Govan led the Blue & Gray in scoring and rebounding on the week with 21.0 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game. He opened the week with 22 points and 12 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season while adding a pair of blocks and two assists against Creighton. Govan shot 56.3 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from downtown against the Bluejays.

Georgetown wrapped up the week by avenging an earlier season loss to St. John's in New York. Govan put together a 20-point, nine-rebound performance in GU's victory while adding three blocks and an assist against the Red Storm.

The Hoyas return home to welcome the Xavier University Musketeers to the Nation's Capital on Thursday, Jan. 31. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. at Capital One Arena and can be seen live on CBS Sports Network. The game can be heard locally on The Team 980 and on SiriusXM channel 81 with Rich Chvotkin calling the action.
