WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Track & Field All-American
Joe White (Clifton, N.J. / DePaul Catholic) was named the BIG EAST Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, as announced by the league. The honor comes after White recorded a new facility record at the Multi-Sport Facility & Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track at Penn State this past weekend in the men's 800-meter run. White was one of four event title winners at the Penn State National Invitational held in University Park, Pennsylvania.
White posted a first-place finish clocking a time of 1:46.91. This mark ranks him fourth in the NCAA in the 800-meter event and first in the BIG EAST.
This is the seventh total BIG EAST weekly honor of White's decorated career and his sixth indoor nod to date. This is the second weekly award for the Blue & Gray so far this season.
The Hoyas now head to Staten Island, N.Y. for the Villanova Invitational held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Saturday, Feb. 2.
