  • Graduating 98 percent, the Hoyas tied with Seton Hall University for the top spot in the BIG EAST Conference. Additionally, Georgetown tied for seventh in the nation.
  • A total of 14 Hoya teams achieved a 100 percent GSR including baseball, men's cross country/track & field, men's golf, men's soccer, women's basketball, women's cross country/track & field, women's rowing, field hockey, women's lacrosse, women's soccer, softball, women's swimming & diving, women's tennis and volleyball.

NCAA Federal Graduation Rate (FGR)
  • Georgetown freshmen scholarship athletes that enrolled in 2009-12 posted a four-year class average of 90 percent.
  • This tied for seventh in the nation and first in the BIG EAST.

  • The FGR does not allow for the removal of those individuals who left GU in good academic standing, and only includes scholarship student-athletes.

What They're Saying

University President and Chair of the Division I Committee on Academics John J. DeGioia
"Our students engaged in intercollegiate athletics continue to demonstrate excellence in both athletics and academics. These numbers — nearly 30,000 additional graduates because of the NCAA's academic policies — show that our work is vital. We are using this year to examine the Academic Performance Program, and we strive to make changes that will support and prepare our students as they work toward graduation."

Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Lee Reed
"Our graduation success rate exemplifies our student-athletes' commitment to excellence in both athletics and academics. The student-athlete journey is not traveled alone, and I am grateful for the support we have received from our faculty and administration, coaches and staff.  Our student-athletes compete at the highest level every single day, while also receiving an incredibly valuable education.  These elements will set them up for future success in their chosen fields as well as their communities as they embark on their postgraduate lives beyond the Hilltop."
