WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's cross country team finished in 19th place in the 6K at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday. The women are currently ranked No. 28 in the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll and placed ahead of No. 15 Syracuse and No. 25 Oregon State. The men's cross country team turned in a 20th-place finish in the 8K and placed before nationally-ranked No. 12 Syracuse, No. 25 Eastern Kentucky and No. 30 Wyoming.

COACH CULLEY ON THE WOMEN'S RACE
"We thought on a good day we could finish inside the top-15 and on a solid day we'd be inside the top-20. We were better today than we've been in recent years at Wisconsin, but we are better than this. But, we have to prove it.
Madeline Perez ran a conservative race coming off of being sick and
Baylee Jones ran an unbelievable last 2000m to pass 47 individuals. Our three to five runners need to be further up in the field because the outcome would change significantly. We've got a chip on our shoulder heading into the postseason and we are ready for BIG EAST."
Georgetown Men's Results (20 out of 33 teams, 539 points)
COACH BONSEY ON THE MEN'S RACE
"Once again, the men had a tight one to five spread, but we need them to be further up in the pack. The one to six spread was 22 seconds, which is really good, but we have to move up in the pack better. I thought
Jack Van Scoter and
Spencer Brown did a good job of leading us.
Tristan Forsythe once again ran a tremendous race in the 'B' race and he would have been right where Rusty Kudych was, which is encouraging. I see the potential of this team, but it's time for us to actually reach our potential. I don't think today's result reflects how good we actually are. We have always been a team that peaks well and I believe this year will be no different."
