WASHINGTON – The No. 11 Georgetown women's soccer team (10-2-2, 4-0-1 BIG EAST) will face the Butler Bulldogs (8-4-2, 3-1-1 BIG EAST) on Sunday afternoon in a BIG EAST matchup in Indianapolis. The Hoyas sit first in the conference standings while the Bulldogs are tied for second. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl.

About the Hoyas
- Georgetown went 1-0-1 last week in a pair of conference games at Shaw Field. The Blue & Gray defeated Xavier 2-1 on Thursday off of a pair of penalty kicks taken by senior Carson Nizialek. GU then tied with Creighton 2-2 in double overtime on Sunday despite being down 2-0 at the half. Freshmen Julia Leas and Sofie Fox scored the goals on Sunday.
- Graduate student Amanda Carolan leads the Blue & Gray with 23 points off of nine goals and five assists. Senior Paula Germino-Watnick sits second on the team with 20 points off of six goals and eight assists. Sophomore Boo Jackson leads the team with nine assists.
- Georgetown leads the BIG EAST in multiple categories: points (112), goals (36), assists (40) and corner kicks (107). Jackson and Germino-Watnick sit first and second in the league, respectively, in the assists category and Carolan leads with three game-winning goals.
- The team sits among the top 10 in the country in several categories: fifth in corner kicks per game (7.64), seventh in assists per game (2.57) and total assists (36) and ninth in points per game (7.71) and scoring offense (2.57).
Scouting Butler
- The Bulldogs went 2-0 last week, defeating both BIG EAST opponents 1-0. Butler's Katie Soderstrom scored the golden goal in overtime last Thursday at Creighton. BU then topped St. John's on Sunday with the game-winning goal coming from Anja Savich in the 78th minute.
- Soderstrom and Savich lead the Bulldogs with 21 and 18 points, respectively. Both players have seven goals each.
- Stephanie Rodriguez has played every minute in goal this season and has allowed 13 goals while recording 45 saves and a .900 GAA. She has six shutouts on the year.
- Rodriguez was named the BIG EAST's Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday while Soderstrom tabbed Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Series History vs. the Bulldogs
- Sunday will be the 10th meeting between the Hoyas and the Bulldogs. Georgetown leads the all-time series 7-1-1 and has shut out Butler in the last six meetings as well as in seven out of the nine games.
- The two teams met twice during the 2018 campaign. GU won 2-0 in the first meeting and clinched the BIG EAST Regular Season title with goals coming from junior Kelly Ann Livingstone and Germino-Watnick. The next meeting occurred in the BIG EAST Championship game at Shaw Field when the Hoyas scored in the third minute to claim a 1-0 victory.

The Blue & Gray will finish out its road conference schedule at DePaul on Thursday, Oct. 24. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. and will be aired live on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN).
