WASHINGTON – Five members of the Georgetown University women's tennis team was a part of the ITA Regionals in Charlottesville, Virginia this past weekend.
The Hoyas were represented by Elena De Santis, Sofie Moenster and Agata Mikos during singles competition. The trio went head to head against opponents from William & Mary, Penn State, Maryland, Navy, Radford and George Washigton. Each Hoya dropped their first round single match before moving on to the consolation round.
During doubles competition, De Santis teamed up with Anna Short and Mikos was paired with Olivia Ashton to give GU a shot at the doubles championship at the event. De Santis and Short came up short against Liberty's Nasha Ghajar and Alexandra Almborg 8-3, while Mikos and Ashton were defeated 8-4 by Richmond's Andrea Campodonico and Lyndell Giffenig.
The Hoyas will visit Boston, Massachusetts on Friday, Nov. 1 for the Harvard Invite.
