WASHINGTON – The No. 10 Georgetown women's soccer team (9-2-1, 3-0-0 BIG EAST) will welcome Xavier (9-2-2, 2-1-0 BIG EAST) and Creighton (7-4-1, 1-1-1 BIG EAST) this week for a pair of BIG EAST matches at Shaw Field. The Hoyas will host the Musketeers on Thursday at 3 p.m. and the Bluejays on Sunday at 1 p.m.

About the Hoyas
- Georgetown shut out both BIG EAST opponents last week on the road, blanking Villanova 2-0 and then downing Providence 4-0. Freshman Anna Leat was credited with both clean sheets and graduate student Amanda Carolan and senior Paula Germino-Watnick led the squad with five points each.
- Leat claimed BIG EAST Goalkeeper and Freshman of the Week honors on Monday while Carolan and senior Meaghan Nally tabbed spots on the Weekly Honor Roll.
- Carolan leads the Blue & Gray with 22 points off of nine goals and four assists. Germino-Watnick sits second on the team with 19 points off of six goals and seven assists.
- The Hoyas moved up to No. 10 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll after receiving a No. 11-ranking last week. This is their highest ranking since the preseason poll when GU was ranked seventh.
- Georgetown sits first in the BIG EAST and leads the conference in multiple categories: points (101), goals (32), assists (37), goals allowed (10), shutouts (7) and corners (92). Sophomore Boo Jackson and Germino-Watnick rank first and second in the league in assists with eight and seven, respectively. Additionally, Leat leads the BIG EAST with five shutouts.
- The team sits among the top 10 in the country in several categories: fifth in corners per game (7.67), sixth in points per game (8.08), seventh in total assists (33), eighth in assists per game (2.75) and scoring offense (2.67) and 10th in total points (97).
Scouting Xavier
- The Musketeers went 2-0 last week in BIG EAST play, defeating Creighton 3-1 and blanking Seton Hall 5-0. XU outshot its opponents 42-14 on the week.
- Samantha Dewey leads the squad with 25 points from 11 goals and three assists. Dewey is eighth in the country in total goals.
- Grace Bahr was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Monday and Broke Sroka earned a spot on the honor roll.
Scouting Creighton
- The Bluejays went 0-1-1 last week in conference action, falling to Xavier in the first match of the week and then tying Marquette 1-1 on the road in double overtime. Against the Golden Eagles, Creighton's Ansley Atkinson scored an early goal in the ninth minute.
- Skyler Heinrich leads the Bluejays with 20 points off of nine goals and a pair of assists.
- Goalkeeper Katie Sullivan registers a 1.00 GAA and a .824 save percentage.
Series History vs. the Musketeers
- Thursday will be the eighth meeting between the Hoyas and the Musketeers. Georgetown leads the all-time series 6-0-1.
- The teams met twice last season. In the first meeting, GU and Xavier played to a scoreless draw in the regular season finale. A week later, the Hoyas then downed the Musketeers 3-1 in the BIG EAST semifinals at Shaw Field. Carolan had three points off of a goal and an assist in the victory.
Series History vs. the Bluejays
- Sunday will be seventh meeting between the two schools and GU leads the series 5-0-1.
- Last season, the Blue & Gray downed the Bluejays 7-1 Omaha, Nebraska. Germino-Watnick had a pair of goals and an assist in the victory and Carolan and junior Grace Nguyen added to the scoring.
What Lies Ahead
The Blue & Gray will head out to Indianapolis, Indiana on Sunday, Oct. 20 for a BIG EAST match against the Butler Bulldogs. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN).
