Hoyas Host Georgia State as Part of 2K Empire Classic

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team closes out its season-opening four-game homestand when the Hoyas face Georgia State on Sunday night. Tipoff at Capital One Arena is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and the game is part of the 2K Empire Classic.
 
GAME DAY INFORMATION
  • Sunday's game will be broadcast live on FS1 with Dave Sims calling the play-by-play and Donny Marshall providing analysis.
  • The game can be heard locally on The Team 980 radio station with Rich Chvotkin in his 46th season on the call.

  • The Hoyas (2-1) dropped a nonconference game to visiting Penn State 81-66 on Thursday evening.
  • The game was part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games, an early season an annual early-season series of eight games played between the BIG EAST and Big Ten Conferences and named in honor of BIG EAST founder and basketball visionary Dave Gavitt.
  • Omer Yurtseven recorded his third double-double in as many games as he put up 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

  • Sunday will be the third meeting all-time between the Hoyas and Panthers, with the Blue & Gray having won both prior meetings.
