WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University cross country teams competed on the elite Wayne Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships on Saturday. Kenosha received six inches of snow on Thursday night, so the course proved to be a challenge for all runners.
The men's team finished in second place in the 8K behind Villanova. The Hoyas four-consecutive conference title streak was snapped by the Wildcats, who edged out the men by a total of six points.
Jack Van Scoter,
Price Owens and
Shea Weilbaker earned All-BIG EAST first team honors. The women's cross country team finished in third place in the 6K behind Butler and Villanova. Georgetown finished a mere four points behind the Wildcats and 13 points behind the Bulldogs.
Madeline Perez earned first team All-BIG EAST honors.

COACH BONSEY ON THE MEN'S RACE
"I was proud of the effort of the men today. The course conditions were brutal and despite that we ran a tough race.
Jack Van Scoter displayed great senior leadership leading us in fourth place. After that two freshman,
Price Owens and
Shea Weilbaker, stepped up big time. I could not be more proud of the way they raced. We had tremendous depth today. The team finished with eight men in the top-15 and also placed eight runners in front of Villanova's fifth runner. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to beat Villanova as their front four ran great. I am sad to see our streak of winning snapped, but we ran well today. We will not hang our heads on this one and we will head into regionals with a lot of confidence."
