Germino-Watnick Earns National Player of the Week Honors

WASHINGTON – The awards continue to roll in for senior Paula Germino-Watnick of the No. 18 Georgetown University women's soccer team as she earned National Player of the Week recognition from the United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday. Earlier this week, the senior was named the BIG EAST's Offensive Player of the Week and then unanimously claimed the league's Midfielder of the Week title along with a spot on the All-BIG EAST First Team.

Germino-Watnick led the Hoyas last week in the team's regular season finale against St. John's. She recorded a hat trick in the 3-2 victory, including the game-winning goal off of a penalty kick in overtime. She took a total of five shots on the day with three of them on goal. The senior ranks second on the team with 26 points on the year from nine goals and eight assists.

The Blue & Gray will head to Omaha, Nebraska on Thursday for the BIG EAST Semifinals. No. 2-seeded Georgetown will face sixth-seeded Providence at 8:30 p.m. ET at Morrison Stadium. For more information, visit BIGEAST.com.
