WASHINGTON – Georgetown women's basketball player
Brianna Jones was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday as announced by the league office. For the season the Hoyas are 2-5 after going 1-1 at the LMU Thanksgiving Classic this past weekend in Los Angeles, California.
Jones averaged 17.5 ppg as well as 4.5 rpg and 2.0 spg for the Blue & Gray in California. In the win over the host Lions on Friday, Jones had 16 points and six rebounds to lead the Hoyas. She also managed three steals and an assist. In the loss to Fresno State on Saturday, the senior guard led Georgetown with 19 points and three rebounds.
The North Babylon, N.Y. native is leading the Hoyas in scoring this season with 11.4 ppg to go along with 4.0 rpg. This is her first nod to the honor roll and the first of the season for the Blue & Gray.
The Hoyas will stay on the road next weekend as the squad travels to New York City for a pair of games. GU will face Columbia on Friday at 11 a.m., before battling Fordham on Sunday in a 2 p.m. matchup.
