WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University swimming & diving team wrapped up competition at the Toyota U.S. Open on Saturday as four Hoyas took to the pool. The USA Swimming-sponsored meet, held at Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, serves as an opportunity to qualify for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials, held in Omaha, Nebraska this summer.
DREW CARBONE
- Carbone, who already qualified for the 2020 Olympic Trials in the 200-meter backstroke last year, touched the wall in the same event with a time of 2:07.09.
SAMANTHA KIM
- Kim raced to a time of 2:47.08 in the 200-meter breaststroke.
CONNOR MORIKAWA
- Morikawa placed 74th overall in the 200 breast with a time of 2:27.36.
MICHAEL WHEELER
- Wheeler finished a strong weekend with a 34th-place finish in the 1,500-meter freestyle, touching the wall in 15:52.64.
COMING UP NEXT
The Hoyas will break for finals and Christmas before heading out on their annual training trip at the beginning of January. The second semester will start with a dual meet at George Washington on Jan. 18.
