Georgetown Tennis Welcomes Six Newcomers to the Hilltop

WASHINGTON– Georgetown University tennis Head Coach Courtney Dolehide has announced that six newcomers have joined the program as members of the class of 2023. The six incoming freshmen, two men and four women, will join the Hoyas next fall for the 2019 season.
 
"We are incredibly excited for what the future on the Hilltop holds for these six," said Dolehide. "Getting to know each of these exceptional student-athletes through the recruiting process has ensured us that they are perfect fits for Georgetown and the future of Hoya Tennis."

Carmen Aizpurua
Bilbao, Spain / The American School of Bilbao
Aizpurua is ranked No. 15 in Spain for the under-18 group. She has won many local and national tournaments in singles and doubles throughout her career in Spain and has notched wins against players ranked as high as No. 64 in the country. In her spare time, she focuses on her studies and is the recipient of numerous academic diplomas including Model United Nations.
 
Olivia Ashton
Pleasantville, N.Y. / Pleasantville High School
Ashton currently attends Pleasantville High School in New York where she was the No. 1 singles player and captain. She has been a member of National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society. Other notable tennis accomplishes include: quarterfinalist at the Eastern Super Six Section Championship, round of 16 in National Level 2 and champion of the Section 1 Conference 3 of New York State in 2016 and 2017.
 
Chloe Bendetti
Pacific Palisades, Calif. / Oaks Christian High School
Bendetti attends Oaks Christian High School in Southern California where she was awarded MVP of the varsity team in 2015. Other notable achievements include: two-time USTA Sportsmanship Award recipient, under-16 doubles semifinalist at the National Winter Championship in 2015, doubles finalist in CIF southern sections girls 18s in 2016 and a semifinalist in singles and doubles in USTA Level 2.
 
Kieran Foster
White Plains, N.Y. / Iona Preparatory School
Foster is a 4-star recruit on Tennis Recruiting Network and the No. 90 recruit in the nation. Notable achievements include: finalist of the USTA National Level 3 Tournament, winner of the Eastern Empire Cup in doubles, runner-up of the One Love Tennis April National Level 3 in singles, semifinalist of the May National Level 2 in singles, made it to the round of 32 in singles in USTA National Clay Court Championship, finalist in singles of the Easter Super Six National Level 4 and the winner of the USTA National Indoor Championship in doubles.
 
Agata Mikos
Willowbrook, Ill. / Hinsdale South High School
Mikos is a 5-star recruit on Tennis Recruiting Network and has consistently been a top 50 recruit for her class with a UTR ranging from 10.04-10.40. Notable accomplishments include: quarterfinalist of the USTA Midwest Level 1, winner of the USTA Midwest event in January, runner-up of the USTA Midwest Level 2 Open Championships last summer, qualifier for the National Clay Court Championship, and round of 16 in the Georgia Bowl.
 
Harry Yang
Irvine, Calif. / Laurel Springs School
Yang is No. 53 in the nation with a UTR of 12.35. In California, Harry was ranked No. 1 for his age group as well as top 10 in the nation in 2016 and top five in 2015. Other notable achievements include: round of 32 at the Orange Bowl International Championship 2017, round of 32 at USTA National Winter Championship in singles 2017, round of 64 at USTA National Championship in singles 2018, participant in the National Open Championship in 2014 and 2015, top four at Winter Nationals in 2016, top eight at the Easter Bowl in 2014 and 2016 and top 16 at the International Spring Championships and Newport Beach Bowl in 2017.
