WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Track & Field All-American
Joe White (Clifton, N.J. / DePaul Catholic) was named the BIG EAST Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, as announced by the league. The honor comes after White ran an impressive time in the Mel Sheppard Men's 800-meter run at the prestigious Millrose Games in New York City this past weekend, held at The Armory Track & Field Center.
White posted a fourth-place finish in a very competitive field clocking a time of 1:46.59. This mark ranks him first in the BIG EAST and third nationally.
This is the eighth total BIG EAST weekly honor of White's decorated career and his seventh indoor nod to date. This is the third weekly award for the Blue & Gray so far this season.
Georgetown returns to the track this weekend for another pair of meets as both squads head to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for the JDL Fast Track Invitational on Friday, Feb. 15 and South Bend, Indiana for the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 16.
