WASHINGTON – Georgetown University women's basketball graduate student guard Dorothy Adomako (Midlothian, Va. / Cosby) was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday as announced by the league office.  This is the second player of the week award for the Hoyas this season and the second of her career.  Georgetown has also earned six nods to the honor roll this year with Adomako garnering four.
 
Adomako led the Hoyas to their first weekend sweep of the season, averaging 21.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and .436 shooting in victories over Creighton and Providence. She posted back-to-back double-doubles, beginning with 23 points and 13 rebounds in Friday's 62-53 win over the Bluejays to even the season series, followed by 20 points and 10 caroms in Sunday's 61-56 victory over the Friars to seal the sweep.
 
The guard is leading the team in points (16.0), rebounds (8.2) and blocks (40).  She is also second in steals with 30 and third on the squad in assists tallying 31.  Adomako is fourth in the BIG EAST in scoring, fifth in rebounds and second in blocked shots.
 
The Blue & Gray will start a three-game road swing at No. 10/9 Marquette University on Friday with an 8 p.m. ET tip. The game will be broadcast live on FS1 and live stats will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.  The game will be one of FOX Sports' All-Access contests.  The game is presented commercial-free on FS1, allowing FOX Sports cameras and microphones to capture moments not normally available to a television audience, including live access to every team huddle and inside both locker rooms during halftime and postgame.  Play-by-play announcer Lisa Byington and analyst and Hoya alum Monica McNutt will be live from the Al McGuire Center.
