WASHINGTON – Five members of the Georgetown University track & field team secured All-America honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). It was announced on Monday following the 2019 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the University of Alabama Birmingham and held at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The five honors were earned by all five student-athletes who competed.
The men's DMR team comprised of
Jack Salisbury (Rumford, R.I. / La Salle Academy),
Lawrence Leake (Huntington, N.Y. / Huntington),
Ruach Padhal (London, Ontario / John Paul II Catholic) and
Nick Wareham (Woodbury, Minn. / Woodbury) finished in third place to earn first team honors. Georgetown posted an overall time of 9:33.06.
Joe White (Clifton, N.J. / DePaul Catholic) finished in sixth place in the men's 800-meter final on the second day of competition to secure a first team honor.
White tallied his eighth overall All-America selection to add to his impressive career and Wareham added his second nod in as many years. Salisbury earns his first All-America recognition while the sophomore duo of Leake and Padhal also earn their first All-America honors.
Georgetown will open the outdoor track & field season at the Penn Challenge on Saturday, March 23 in Philadelphia.
