Jessie Govan (Queens Village, N.Y. / Wings Academy) was named Second Team All-District 5 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), as announced on Thursday. He was also recently named First Team All-District II by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA), All-BIG EAST First Team and a top-five finalist for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award.
Leading the Hoyas with 17.5 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game, Govan shot nearly 50.0 percent from the floor and 41.2 percent from downtown. He added 1.2 assists and 1.2 blocks per game as well. Govan was selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll nine times this season.
Govan concluded his career at Georgetown ranking 12th all-time in scoring (1,664), seventh in rebounding (842) and 11th in blocked shots (140).
Georgetown closed the 2018-19 campaign with an overall record of 19-14. It was the program's 13th overall appearance in the NIT and the first postseason bid of second-year Head Coach
Patrick Ewing's tenure. Govan was the 26th Hoya is program history to garner All-BIG EAST First Team accolades and the first since 2014-15.
