WASHINGTON– The Georgetown University women's rowing team competed in two races on Sunday morning at the Occoquan Sprints in Fairfax, Virginia. Due to inclement weather, only morning races were completed on the day.
The women's second varsity 8+ boat raced in a field of six against West Virginia, Robert Morris, George Mason, Loyola Maryland and William and Mary and crossed the line with a time of 8:16.83 to take first place. West Virginia trailed the Hoyas, finishing 4.41 seconds behind.
In the women's varsity four event, GU competed in the first heat against Grand Valley State University, Robert Morris and West Virginia. The Hoyas finished with a time of 9:23.06 which put them 9.07 seconds off the first place finishers, Grand Valley State.
The Blue & Gray are back on the water on Saturday, April 6 to race against Navy and Lehigh in Annapolis.
