WASHINGTON – Georgetown University women's basketball senior guard
Dionna White (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll the league announced on Monday in its final set of awards for the season. It is the seventh nod to the honor roll for the Hoyas this season, the third for White and the 10th honor of her career.
White led the Hoyas to back-to-back road wins to climb into a tie for fourth place in the final standings, posting consecutive games of 23 points and 10 rebounds. She added 3.5 assists, 3.0 steals and shot .552 from the field in wins at Butler (72-42) and Xavier (67-64), extending GU's winning streak to a season-high four games.
For the season, she leads the team in scoring with 16.0 ppg and is second in rebounds with 7.4 rpg. White also has a squad-high 79 steals and 93 assists. The senior finished her four-year BIG EAST career ranked tied for 10th all-time with 1,175 points, while her 201 steals is third highest in league history. Overall, she is Georgetown's second-leading scorer of all-time and GU's career assist leader.
Georgetown earned the No. 4 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament presented by Jeep. The seed gives the Hoyas a bye into the quarterfinals where the Blue & Gray will face No. 5 Villanova on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. The game will be broadcast live on FS2.
