WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Track & Field All-American
Ruach Padhal (London, Ontario / John Paul II Catholic) was named the BIG EAST Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week on Monday, as announced by the league. The sophomore earned the accolade following an impressive time in the 800-meter run at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Florida this past Friday.
Padhal's 800-meter mark of 1:49.06 is tops in the BIG EAST this season by over three seconds. His time currently ranks 15th nationally and 11th in the East Region.
This is the second overall BIG EAST weekly honor of Padhal's collegiate career and his first outdoor nod to date. This is also the first weekly award for the Blue & Gray so far this outdoor season.
Georgetown will return to the track this weekend for a pair of races on Saturday, April 6th. Select members will head to the Sam Howell Invitational, hosted by Princeton University and one squad will head to Tempe, Arizona for the Sun Angel Classic, hosted by Arizona State.
