WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University softball team will host the DePaul Blue Demons this weekend for a two-day, three-game series at Nats Youth Academy. The squads will take the field on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at noon and a single game on Sunday at noon. Sunday's game will be Nats Academy Day.

The Hoyas are 9-24 on the season and 2-3 in the BIG EAST. Last weekend, the team dropped a pair of games at St. John's. For the season, junior
Noelle Holiday (Bear, Del. / Red Lion Christian Academy) leads the team with a .351 batting average, a .688 slugging percentage, 26 RBIs and is tied for first with eight doubles. Sophomore
Savannah Jones (San Rafael, Calif. / Terra Linda) and freshman
Mae Forshey (Phoenix, Ariz. / Arcadia) rank first on the team with 29 hits apiece and tie with Holiday for eight doubles. Additionally, senior
Sarah Bennett (Owings, Md. / Northern) has a team-high seven home runs.
The Blue Demons are 23-9 overall and 3-1 in the BIG EAST. Due to weather conditions last weekend, DePaul only managed to get in one game against Seton Hall and defeated the Pirates 8-6 after scoring four runs in the sixth inning to seal the victory. For the season, junior Jessica Cothern leads the Blue Demons batting .371 along with 11 doubles, five homers and a league-best 33 RBIs.
The Hoyas are 4-16 all-time against DePaul and won the series last season 2-1 at Cacciatore Stadium. Holiday led GU to an 8-6 victory in the first game of the 2018 series with a two-run homer and Bennett hit a walkoff home run in the final game to lead the Blue & Gray 5-4 in extra innings.
