WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University track & field teams competed in a pair of meets on Saturday with one squad racing at the Sam Howell Invitational in Princeton, New Jersey while the other traveled to Tempe, Arizona for the Sun Angel Classic. The day was highlighted by a number of strong performances from the sprinters and distance runners.
Sam Howell Recap

Christian Liddell (Rogers, Ark. / Rogers) was able to post his second-consecutive victory in a steeplechase event this season with a win in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. All-Americans
Jack Salisbury (Rumford, R.I. / La Salle Academy) and

On the women's side, sophomore Vicki Milledge (Simsbury, Conn. / Simsbury) came in fifth place in the women's 100-meter hurdles. In the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, the freshman trio of
Katherine Modrall (Carmel, Ind. / Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory),
Rachel Sessa (Tewksbury, Mass. / Tewksbury Memorial) and
Katie Dammer (Clarks Summit, Pa. / Abington Heights) finished third, fourth and sixth, respectively.
"I thought the men's team competed extremely well at Princeton," Assistant Track & Field Coach
Brandon Bonsey said. "When we line up, the goal is to win, so coming away with four wins was awesome.
Lawrence Leake got back to his winning ways in the 400 and
Nate Alleyne was really close behind in third. Those two will continue to get better as the season progresses.
Rusty Kujdych,
Jack Salisbury and
Christian Liddell all walked away with wins in their respective events. Jack and Rusty used big kicks to win their races while Christian just dominated that field. Christian actually fell on the last water barrier and still ran a 8:56. We are off to a good start this season and will look to keep the momentum going next weekend at George Mason."
Sun Angel Recap
