WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University track & field team has qualified 12 student-athletes to the NCAA Outdoor Championships East Preliminary Round. The three-day meet will be held at the University of North Florida (UNF) in Jacksonville, Florida. Georgetown's 12 athletes are scattered across six different events. The lists were announced less than a week after the Hoyas closed out the BIG EAST Championships and recorded 26 all-league performances en route to a fifth-place finish for both the men and the women.
The GU men have eight on the list of declared athletes coming from three different events. GU boasts a quartet of athletes in the 800-meter run and a trio of Hoyas in the 1,500-meter run while adding an additional athlete in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase.
On the women's side, the Hoyas tally a pair of athletes in the 800-meter run while adding one each in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and the 5,000-meter run.
The Blue & Gray will head to Jacksonville for the meet on May 23-25 for the NCAA Track & Field Championships. Live results will be available on GUHoyas.com.
