WASHINGTON– The Georgetown University women's rowing team tied for third place in the Patriot League Championships on Friday afternoon as the Hoyas finished even with Boston University with 39 points. Navy finished in first with 54 total points followed by Bucknell with 48 points.
 
The Blue & Gray started with a strong showing in its preliminary heats as each the varsity four, second varsity eight and varsity eight boats qualified for the Grand Finals. In the first grand final of the day, the varsity four boat finished third with a time of 7:41.800, trailing Navy and Bucknell.
 
The second varsity eight boat crossed the finish line in third clocking a time of 6:52.232, outpacing Boston, Lehigh and MIT and finishing over 15 seconds faster than their preliminary time.
 
Entering the final race of the day, Navy led the pack, followed by Bucknell and Georgetown. The varsity eight boat battled alongside Bucknell and Boston but Georgetown finished fourth, just 0.56 seconds off the pace of BU. Boston's finial push gave them enough points to share the podium with the Hoyas for third.
