WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's women's rowing team had three boats race for lanes on the opening day of the Intercollegiate Rowing Association's National Championship on Saturday, held at Lake Natoma in Sacramento County, California. The Hoyas finished fifth in all three events to kick off the regatta.
The lightweight eight boat posted a time of 6:41.498, the lightweight four crew crossed the finish line in 7:30.831 and the lightweight double squad recorded a time of 7:57.203.
All three boats will hit the water once again on Sunday to determine the national champions in each event. The lightweight double Grand Final is set for 11:00 a.m. ET, followed by the lightweight four at 11:42 a.m. ET and the lightweight eight at 1:40 p.m. ET
