WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's women's rowing team closed out competition at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association's National Championship on Sunday, winning silver in the lightweight double final at Lake Natoma in Sacramento County, California. The Hoyas also placed fifth in both the lightweight eight and lightweight four events.
Freshmen
Claire Miller (Old Greenwich, Conn.) and
Hannah Weingartner (Rye, N.Y.) paired up to place second in the lightweight double with a time of 7:55.439. The duo finished less than four seconds behind the winners from Boston University while edging Wisconsin by .730 seconds to claim silver.
Following Saturday's race for lanes, all seven crews from both the lightweight four and lightweight eight events held course and repeated their finishes from the day before. The Blue & Gray placed fifth in both races, crossing the line in 7:36.553 in the LW4+ and 6:44.263 in the LW8+.
