Josette Norris (Tenafly, N.J. / Tenafly / North Carolina) is competing in the 5,000-meter finals at the NCAA Championships on Saturday. The four-day meet, held at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin, culminates on Saturday. All four days of the championship meet are being televised on the ESPN family of networks with Norris' final covered on ESPN2.
Norris is competing in the 24-person field following a strong performance in the semifinals almost two weeks ago in Jacksonville, Fla. In just her second 5K of the season, Norris ran a tempered race, holding position on the outside for the majority as she stayed among the lead pack wire to wire. Norris easily took the third of the five automatic-qualifying spots from her heat to earn a spot in Saturday's final.
